History

In 2011, Gates Corporation marked 100 years of innovation and service, and celebrated its position as a world leader in engineering, manufacturing, marketing and distribution of industrial and automotive belt and hose products, systems, components and services.

From its modest beginning, Gates Corporation has charted a global course that has seen the company expand into 100 locations, 30 countries and has more than 14,000 global employees.

In its thirtieth year of trading in Australia, Gates Australia Pty Ltd is a sales, marketing and distribution facility located in Dandenong South. It is hard to believe that the business started out as an agency working from a one man office in 1980, because since then the company has evolved considerably to be the leading business that it is today.

As the company grew, so did its need for expansion. In 1991 Gates Australia relocated to Hallam and following seven years of trading from this location, the distribution centre outgrew the facility and has since operated (and continues to), from premises in Hydrive Close, Dandenong South.

Gates Australia employs highly skilled product, marketing, sales, warehouse and administration personnel that work from the distribution centre.

The company also provides strong support to its markets through a dedicated field sales team, located in each state, servicing all states and territories as well as New Zealand.
