New Drive Challenge
This large 300kW plastic extruder drive needed to be designed to fit within tight space constraints.
A short motor and extruder shaft meant the required 10 belt wide, standard V-belt pulleys would not work in this application.
Solution Description
Belt = 6 x SPC4500P Predator® V-belts
DriveR Pulley = 6/SPC300
DriveN Pulley = 6/SPC355

Benefits of Gates Product
Due to the massive power transmitting capability of the Predator® belts Gates design engineers successfully designed and installed a 6 groove belt drive.
This drive of almost half the width has been in operation for 15 months with no signs wear.
