Gates® Australia - Supercars Indigenous Livery, and the Townsville 500 Action-Packed Customer Weekend

Supercars team, Penrite Racing, in collaboration with Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS) debuted their Indigenous inspired livery designed by Darwin born IndigenousArtist Lorraine Kabbindi White for the Darwin Supercars round.

Penrite Racing and Gates Australia helped raise money for the MITS that assists students from remote communities in the Northern Territory and Victoria. Due to the positive response the Indigenous livery received; Penrite Racing continued to display the livery at the Supercars Townsville 500 event. To celebrate the Indigenous round and the great response, Gates Australia ran two Facebook promotions around the events.

The first Facebook promotion was run on the same week as the Darwin Triple Crown, Gates asked Facebook users to vote for their favorite Indigenous Supercar livery with Penrite Racing’s livery receiving the most votes. 5 users that voted for the winning team were selected at random and were sent a limited Penrite Racing Indigenous


 Polo. The second Facebook promotion was run during the week of the Townsville 500 in which users were asked if they were more excited to see the Gen 3 Mustang or the Gen 3 Camaro by commenting Camaro or Mustang. One user was be selected from the comments at random to receive an exclusive Penrite Racing Canvas Print signed by drivers Dave Reynolds and Lee Holdsworth.

Gates in collaboration with their customer Southcott Hydraulics hosted the annual action packed 3-day sales incentive trip alongside the Townsville 500 event. The first day consisted of treating Southcott branch employees to a welcome lunch, Gates training session, awards ceremony and team dinner. Southcott Branches Mackay (QLD) and Laverton (VIC) won the sales promotion and were rewarded with VIP tickets for staff and customers to the Townsville 500 Supercars trip.

Day 2 of the of the incentive saw all attendees enjoying a day at Magnetic Island. Activities on the island included an open Jeep scavenger hunt, lunch in Horseshoe Bay, and a spot of golf. On the final day of the promotion, the team enjoyed Saturday at the Supercars in the Penrite Racing Suite with pit tours, driver meet & greets and grid walks. The winners of the Jeep Scavenger hunt were treated to a scenic helicopter flight over the track and Townsville.
